Put four new BF Goodrich Advantage TA’s on my Focus,

Kinja'd!!!

all for about $430 all in. Costco even refunded $12.50 of their bill, as I don’t have TPMS on my car. I usually get my tires from Tirerack, but this was a pretty good deal, IMHO, and I could get in and out in under an hour. Picked up some new wipers, and floor mats from Weathertech. I’ll have matching floor mats for the first time in years. Let the snow commence.

I’ve been considering buying a Costco membership just for the tires, to be honest.

I got a super cheap car rental for my wife through Costco. And their liberal return policy takes all the fear out of buying things like big TVs. I like Costco, but I always spend too much money there.

Last time I went to Costco for tires, I was there for three hours. You got lucky.

If you buy your tires there they give you free rotations for life. So if you rotate once or twice a year it covers your membership cost.  You can even cancel and still go back for the rotations.   Technically,  if you have a friend who is a member they can buy you a $25 gift card and you can use that to shop, then pay the remainder on your Visa (I think that is what they use now) or cash.

I think they add an extra year onto the warranty for some of those items.

Things have changed, you can now book an i nstallation time online. I was in & out in under an hour a few weeks ago at my local Costco . Unfortunately tires for my Cayman were over $1600

I believe they will do free balance as well. I can rotate my tires, as my cars up on jack stands a few times a year, but balancing is a real plus.

Last set were good for 7 years so I’m not complaining. This is why you need a reserve fund when you have older cars, sooner or later yer gonna need to invest some dollars. Unfortunately in the last six months  I also had to do the brakes, new battery, and... catalytic converter (that one hurt)

(I love Costco)

I’ve got a 2003 Honda Odyssey that I can’t bear to part with. Along with all the other consumables, I have put a new-to-me engine in it and rebuilt the transmission. There’s just nothing like it on the road that I want to own. Tires are cheaper for me, though.

We almost always buy our DD tires at Costco. Of course we wait until the ones we want are on discount.

Not today. Their pizza does a number on my tummy, and I had appointments later that day.

Interesting. I have never rotated my tires without balancing them. Time for new Oppo poll.

I did the same thing at the end of January, only at Costco here in Japan. I ran over a screw, and with no spare I put a plug in the tire the next day. ( I saw that there was severe cracking in the treads of all four tires thanks to the screw). We happened to go to Costco that day, and there was a deal for ¥8000 cash card rebate.

So 1 hour and ¥47,000 later I had 4 new tires, and an empty cash card since my wife spent it inside while the tires were being put on the card.
